When Sunny gets bleu.
Ready for a romp through the French countryside?
From JAB Anstoetz, it’s the Soleil Bleu collection – an elegant fabric line that celebrates classic French styles evocative of idyllic, pastoral scenes.
Characterized by vivid, Mediterranean colors, sophisticated floral and paisley patterns, and lush, romantic fabrics, the Soleil Bleu line is composed of three themes: Chateau, Deauville and Ballerina.
There is more material here (literally and figuratively) than one simple blog can hope to cover – so consider this the first of two pieces.
Let’s begin with the “Ballerina” collection – composed of five fabrics featuring expressive prints and bold solids: Ballerina, Arlette, Yolanda, Floris and Emmanuelle.
Look closely at the lower two photos of those inset above.
With red and black themes, the collection features large floral and paisley patterns that suggest a carefree joie de vivre that lends any room an artistic setting. In the fabric that gives the collection its “Ballerina” name, dancers appear as charcoal sketches in a study by Degas, across which fresh rose blossoms have been scattered by an ardent admirer.
The sparkle feels bohemian … but the patterns demonstrate a discipline worthy of École des Beaux-Arts.
Enjoy.
