Phillip Jeffries goes glam.
When we think of Phillip Jeffries Ltd., we automatically think of the naturally textured grasscloth wallcoverings that PJL does like nobody else.
But with the holidays putting a little extra bling in everyone’s step, we thought it appropriate to browse their Cities of Gold collection.
Authentic Japanese Gold, Silver and Copper Leaf wallcoverings are crafted using centuries old techniques that have been handed down from generation to generation. Each metallic paper is crafted from real gold, copper or silver leaf that is applied using chopsticks and hand brushed onto a special backing paper. PJL’s metallic leaf wallcoverings also feature the most resilient and flexible finish in the industry, allowing for easier maintenance and installation.
It’s like having your own silversmith on staff in your design house.
To see just how dramatically these amazing metallics can be used to re-imagine an existing space, check out how Spacetherapy Design created a chic bar atmosphere using Silver Leaf Grid GV125 on the bar of their Sleep Exhibition display in the Design Centre, London.
And then let us show you the entire collection of shimmering Phillip Jeffries’ metallic leaf wallcoverings.
Wishing all our favorite design professionals sparkling holidays,

Flashy, flocked, and right in fashion.
One of our guilty pleasures is to browse the latest design and architecture awards. It’s always informative … and sometimes it’s mind-blowing.
Case in point.
For 29 years The American Institute of Architects, California Council (AIACC) has celebrated outstanding architecture through The AIACC Design Awards program. On aspect of this program that we particularly appreciate is that it recognizes that design is about relationships.
The AIACC Awards program moves beyond the obvious – how a space looks and feels – and factors in use and comfort, stability and durability, how light shapes space, and even less tangible benefits.
What especially sets these awards apart is the range of categories and designs that receive recognition.
Here’s an unlikely favorite. Belzberg Architects, creators of The Conga Room at L.A. Live, received a Merit Award for Interior Architecture. If you’re familiar with this club, you know that its no-holds-barred glam décor is essential to the ambiance, and the young designers at Belzberg didn’t hold back. It’s fun, it’s flashy, and it makes no apologies for loading up the luxury items.
Although the stage and the dance floor are front and center, the club offers plenty of hide-away nooks dressed with velvet settees and leather couches. These intimate chat spaces feature shimmering metallics and rich brocade wallpapers. Even the ceilings receive the full wallpaper treatment.
We won’t claim to know for certain which papers were used in which rooms.
But if you have a similar project in mind – one in which nothing less than the most fabulous will do – let us point you to a few of our favorites. Kravet, with the Albert Van Luit collection, Clarke & Clarke with their Couture Collection, and of course, Phillip Jeffries Limited, all offer a full spectrum of wallcoverings that ooze opulence.
Over the top … or under the radar … we’ve got just what you need for your next glam fest.
Serving design professionals,

Haute couture for happy walls.
Looking for a daring design? Not afraid to show some curves?
Inspired by the catwalks of the world’s hottest designer shows, Couture is a collection of nine original wallcoverings from Clarke & Clarke, each making its own distinctive fashion statement.
In case you missed the announcement, Duralee, one of the largest textile companies in the U.S., recently made an agreement with Clarke & Clarke, a U.K. based fabric and wallcoverings editor, to be the exclusive distributor for their products in the United States. Clarke & Clarke is internationally recognized as one of the leaders in the world of home fashion, and this arrangement brings their oeuvre right to your doorstep via our Costa Mesa showroom.
The collection showcases over 60 stunning wallcovering options that include flock, surface textures and metallic prints. All are meticulously produced in the UK – printed on a luxurious heavy weight, non-woven quality material – resulting in wallcoverings that are both practical and high performing. (That’s shorthand for flexible, easy to hang, spongeable and durable.)
“Lamps” is a favorite that we find to be both whimsical and dramatic. The design presents the silhouette of an angular shade and curvy lamp stand arranged in a perfect pattern of unexpected symmetry. And there’s nothing shy or unassuming about the size of this pattern, with its bold 34.75-inch repeat.
The design is offered in two styles – one featuring a fun, flocked outline, and another that uses a new technique of applying glass beads to create the lamp outline in shimmering detail. The flock wallcovering is offered in four subtle shades and the glass beads version in three.
All will make you want to turn up the lights and give the walls room to shine.
