The David Bowie of Wallcoverings?
Even if you’re not currently redoing the domicile of a legendary glam band singer, the Rock Star collection by Phillip Jeffries Ltd merits a closer look.
Seriously – scrutinize this paper. Hold it up to the light. See how it shimmers? That’s because the circle pattern is created by small, luminous glass beads applied to glazed, non-woven paper in a 1-inch repeat pattern.
Offered in seven color selections, Rock Star pays homage to our favorites, with such names as “Heart of Gold,” Rocket Queen,” “Black Magic,” “Elton Gray,” “Rolling Stone,” “Jewel,” and our favorite, “Space Oddity.” New stripe and solid coordinates complete the look for a chic trio.
The paper is light, seamless and, reportedly, a dream to install. Depending on the color selected and the ambient room lighting, walls can shift from a subtle, monochromatic look to a flamboyance that could make Sir Elton blush.
Is it possible that this collection will soon be as notorious as its namesake? “Space Oddity” was already featured on the cover of the Interior Design Buyers Guide 2010. Can a Rolling Stone cover be far behind?
This much is certain – designers who book this PJL collection to headline their favorite lounge space will soon have everyone partying like a rock star!
And that’s music to our ears.

It’s been 40 years since David Bowie released Space Oddity, and it’s still a classic.
