House Beautiful has kicked off its third annual ‘Kitchen of the Year” initiative, with Jeff Lewis, star of Bravo’s Flipping Out, as this year’s featured designer. The Twitterfeed has been, well, all atwitter this past week as the details leaked out in anticipation of the Tuesday reveal.

The kitchen has actually been built out on Rockefeller Plaza in Manhattan, to give everyone passing by the opportunity to check it out. Of course, interested left-coasters have resource to other tactics. We’ve scoped it out online and have spies in all the social media.

Apparently, Jeff Lewis is NOT a cook, but he is one of those guys who, like many of us, just enjoys hanging out with friends in the kitchen. This design plays to his particular aesthetic (no clutter) and lot’s of room to lounge about, with a big “indoor-outdoor” theme.

We were also happy to pick up, via TweetDeck photos, that Jeff – a self-described OCD who keeps accessories to a MINIMUM – favored some Kravet pillows in his design. Kravet has an amazing selection of fabrics, trims, wallcoverings, upholsteries … etcetera … and we send kudos to them for making the cut.
