Holiday inspiration.
Have you seen any of the photos for the Susan B. Komen for the Cure Holiday House in NYC? Proceeds benefited the Greater New York City Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, which is the largest source of nonprofit funds dedicated to the fight against breast cancer in the world.
This year’s Holiday House featured decorated rooms and table settings that celebrate life’s special occasions. There’s nice coverage in the Kravet blog, showing lavishly-themed rooms created by top designers.
It’s pretty inspiring.
We loved Mark Epstein Design’s Hanukah room, with a plain white pine table set with blue linens. And the flame-colored Chinese New Year room by Barbara Ostrom Associates is fabulous.
But the Mother’s Day room by Eric Cohler Design (shown above) won us over with its simple elegance. That, and the dining room chair fabric that Eric Chohler designed exclusively for Lee Jofa. The zebra-inspired pattern seems a non-intuitive match with the formally styled chairs, black-lacquered walls and full draperies. But the combination is guaranteed to put a smile on any mother’s face.
If you are in the throes of the holiday zanies and need some calm, creative inspiration, we’re here for you at either our KMD or DRC showrooms.
And you might want to visit the Susan G. Komen site and read about the many remarkable people who are helping to find a cure for breast cancer.
Now THAT’S inspiring.
