Fabricate a timeless design story.
We love it when interior design tells a story.
That’s literally the case with the new collection from Clarke & Clarke.
“Florica” is inspired by Romany folklore, where strong folk traditions have survived due to the rural character of the Romanian communities. Known for a vital and creative traditional culture, Romania’s rich folk traditions have been nourished by many sources, some of which predate the Roman occupation.
That’s old.
Traditional folk arts include wood carving, ceramics, weaving and embroidery of costumes, household decorations, dance, and richly varied folk music. Heavily ornamented wooden objects – some with vibrantly contrasting paint schemes – were common in old houses.
The colorful floral patterns and stripes found in the Florica collection evoke this tradition. Printed on a heavy-weight slubby cotton ground, the five patterns in the collection are available in the fashionable, highly-saturated colorways of chocolate/aqua, sky/rouge, chocolate/raspberry, charcoal and citrus.
The large, interesting scales of the designs are perfectly complemented by a chenille boucle semi plain, which is available in 25 colors and can be used for both drapes and upholstery.
You can check them all out HERE.
For dramatic window statements, fun pillows, and large or small upholstery projects, this collection can be recombined in as many ways as the stories of Romania have been retold by generations of storytellers.
Contemporary design? It’s timeless!
