All the news that's fit FOR print.
You know Duralee. It’s the family owned and operated company that was founded in 1952 and now holds the title of fastest growing decorative fabrics company in the industry. They service more than 40 countries – covering Russia, China, and yes – Costa Mesa, California.
The creative minds at the Duralee Design Studio have a serious reputation for mixing inspiration and innovation to come up with fantastic fabrics. And we’ve always appreciated how their products focus on meeting the needs of the interior design community.
We also love how they keep coming up with new collections (Highland Court), new concepts (Techstyle hospitality brand), and a cadre of brilliant home-grown designers.
Case in point.
Our friends at Duralee just announced that Samantha Baker has become the new Director of Print Product for the Duralee Design Studio. A 1995 graduate of the Fashion Institute of Technology, she joined Duralee in short order and quickly became an essential member of the CAD Design team. Promoting the best and the brightest is one of the ways Duralee stays on top, and we congratulate them and their new (but experienced) Director of Print.
We look forward expectantly to the fresh aesthetic she’ll bring to the studio in her new assignment.
So does she … according to Ms. Baker herself:
“My goal, along with our amazing design team, is to create unique printed product for the Duralee brands that are consistent with market trends in theme and color. Prints are coming back into focus in a big way, and I want to saturate the market with fantastic designs so that we will be the designer’s go-to resource for printed product.”
Check back with us to see what’s new from Samantha Baker and Duralee. In the meantime, here’s one of the fun prints (pictured above) from the indoor/outdoor Terraza Collection – (ask us for book # 2679) – this one’s called “Sundance.”
By the way, that’s a 25.25” vertical repeat and 27” horizontal repeat – so there’s nothing prissy about these patterns.
