21 Questions? The trick is to start with only two.
Sometimes you have a pretty clear idea in mind for the perfect wallcovering for a specific space – but finding the actual pattern feels like a painfully long game of 21 Questions.
That’s when you think, “There’s got to be a better way.”
Well, there is.
As one of the select showrooms to carry Albert Van Luit & Company, with its long history of beautifully crafted wall coverings, we are excited by their recent market re-entry with a unique, designer-friendly merchandising tool.
It helps take some of the trial and error out of the wallpaper selection process by assembling an organized library of designer-specific wallcoverings. To help find the perfect paper, you can browse pattern categories by design or color. You can do this in the showroom, or try it out online.
We gave it a whirl, and liked how it works.
Start by thinking about either color or design. It doesn’t matter which you pick first – you’ll need both.
The color categories are: Warm Shades; Cool Hues; and Neutral Tints.
The design categories are: Modern & Geometric; Damasks, Stripes & Paisely; Textures & Grasscloth; and Florals & Toiles.
We started by selecting “Modern & Geometric” and then picked “Warm Shades.”
This narrows the selection down to quick, clickable browsing. We looked at several patterns and could even click to see them on walls in various virtual rooms – a living room, dining room, bedroom or hallway.
We ended up with the pattern AVL 183370 – a no-apologies orange scribed with concentric half-circles in a shade of gold. Given the large size of the pattern, it’s fairly subtle from a distance, but adds interest once one is close enough to really admire the room (we could tell from the “living room” photo and close-up shot provided).
We also learned that this pattern is available in a striking black-and white, or in light pink, taupe, or an intriguing aquamarine shade.
If you’re looking for that certain something, don’t play games. Check out the new Albert Van Luit & Company collection.
By the way – we found this wallpaper-selector tool so much fun, we couldn’t stop playing with various combinations. We’d be happy to help you, too.
