2011 – An inside-out year!
It’s official. What started as part of the “stay-cation” response to the economy has now evolved into a full lifestyle change.
According to Marcia Blake, whose design firm specializes in creating outdoor living spaces, the big design trend for the past few years continues to be a move from inside to out. And she predicts the trend to strongly increase in the coming year.
The evidence is everywhere here in the OC.
Casual patios and decks have evolved into lush outdoor living rooms. The popularity of grilling outdoors has extended to the point that we see outdoor kitchens replete with pizza ovens, ice makers, grilling stations, Viking appliances and wine refrigerators.
As more people seek to create resort-like experiences in their private corner of the great outdoors, interior designers need to stay ahead of the curve on critical issues relating to high-performance indoor/outdoor fabrics, furniture, and even more critical, hardware.
This is, of course, a subject near and dear to our hearts.
Our Designers’ Resource Collection, with over 20,000 square feet of merchandise on display, is the largest to-the-trade multi-line outdoor furniture showroom in southern California.
And our Kenneth McDonald Designs showroom has always been THE leading resource for fabric, drapery hardware and wallcoverings for any residential or commercial application.
So, beyond questions of duty or responsibility, we consider it our privilege to keep designers on top of the latest trends.
Which is why we’re inviting you to get the inside skinny from the outdoor experts.
On Thursday, January 13th, 2011, Kenneth McDonald Designs is hosting an open house for designers at which BRIMAR and JAB will present the latest designs in indoor and outdoor drapery hardware. Wine and refreshments will be served in our showroom beginning at 4:00 p.m.
Get your professional year off to a great start with an insightful look at the latest weather-resistant products – including the new Cabana by Brimar hardware line. Designed to withstand natural weather elements and salty ocean air without rusting, Cabana works with fabrics to foster privacy and ambiance – ideal for cabanas, fashionable verandas, cozy outdoor nooks, nightclubs, resorts, cruise ships and more.
Kenneth McDonald Designs is located in the beautiful Stonemill Design Center. (For location information, click here.)
And of course, since we’re hosting the open house, we will be sure to have the latest spring fabric collections available for browsing as well.
See you on the 13th!
